Tricks to clean dust stains on carpets without using a vacuum cleaner.

1. Use a broomstick or cloth broom.

A broom or cloth broom can be used to sweep the carpet surface. Brush gently in the direction of the carpet fibers to lift the dust that sticks. This method is suitable for carpets with short pile.

2. Microfiber Wet Cloth.

Dampen a microfiber cloth with a little water, wring it out until it is damp, then wipe it over the carpet. The microfiber cloth will pick up dust without over-wetting the carpet. Make sure to wipe with light pressure so as not to damage the fibers.

3. Sprinkle Baking Soda.

Sprinkle baking soda evenly over the carpet and let it sit for 1520 minutes. Baking soda helps absorb odors and lift fine dust. After that, clean it with a broom or dry cloth.

4. Use a Lint Roller.

The cleaning rollers commonly used for clothes are also effective at lifting dust and fine hair from carpet surfaces, especially for small areas.

5. Beat the Carpet Outdoors.

Take the carpet outside and tap it gently to dislodge any accumulated dust. This traditional method is still effective, especially for small to medium sized carpets.
