Brilio.net - In a world that is getting hotter due to global warming , a cup of energy can actually come from a cold source. Not only does it refresh the body, but also the Earth. Take one sachet of Kuku Bima, tear it slowly, brew it, and taste it. But, just imagine, before the fresh taste reaches the tongue, there is a long story worth listening to. The story of how a local herbal product can have a much lighter carbon footprint than imagined.
Sido Muncul, the producer of Kuku Bima, really cares about the environment. Its steps are increasingly firm on the path of sustainability. In 2024, carbon emissions from all its production activities were recorded to have dropped drastically by 89% compared to 2021. From 15,494.9 tons of CO2 equivalent to only 1,773 tons.

What's the secret? One of them: green energy. 91% of its energy comes from renewable sources. A surprising number, especially if you know that the source is not only from PLN through the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) scheme, but also from solar energy.
In Semarang, the roof of the Sido Muncul factory is now equipped with solar panels. The investment value is no joke, around US$2 million or equivalent to Rp32.7 billion. The results are concrete, the potential for reducing emissions by up to 1,980 tons of CO per year, plus saving electricity.
Meanwhile, the dregs of herbal medicine left over from production are also not left as ordinary waste. This waste is processed into biomass and gas for boiler fuel. What used to use fossil fuels has now switched to materials that are much more environmentally friendly. The total waste that has been processed? Reaching 98%. Almost nothing is wasted.

Water is also a concern. Throughout this efficiency journey, Sido Muncul has managed to save 114.2 million liters of water. An amount equivalent to hundreds of thousands of gallons of clean water, and certainly has a big impact when calculated in the long term.
Energy in the factory is divided into two, namely for the production process and supporting facilities. This need is supplied from a combination of biomass, grid electricity, CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), diesel, and solar panels. In 2024, the energy intensity was recorded at 6.08 GJ per ton. This means that each ton of finished product is much more efficient in energy use.
To keep all these processes neat and accountable, there is a specific structure. The Board of Directors sets the direction, then the operations are controlled by the Head of Factory supported by two departments: Energy and Environment. These two divisions work together, ensuring that every energy efficiency and emission reduction initiative runs in harmony.
The certification is also not just any old thing. ISO 50001 for Energy Management System and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management have been obtained. This means that all of its practices are not just ambitious, but have been standardized globally.
Amidst all these technical achievements, one thing remains a priority: product quality and safety. Kuku Bima is maintained through the highest standards, following government regulations and best practices in food management. Because energy for the body is not enough to just be refreshing, but also must be safe.

Talking about the content, Kuku Bima is not just an ordinary refreshment drink . It contains ginseng, royal jelly, honey, vitamin C, and vitamin B complex. The combination of these ingredients supports stamina and endurance. The taste is also not monotonous. There are eight variants that can be chosen according to taste: grapes, mango, orange, guava, coffee, milk soda, pineapple, and original (mix fruit). The fresh sensation feels lighter in the throat and more comfortable in the stomach.
While enjoying the freshness of Kuku Bima, I remember one thing. Behind the spirit powder, there is a long effort to keep the Earth breathing. Fresh on the body, light on Earth. Get Kuku Bima on your favorite e-commerce or here .
