Brilio.net/en - Vonvon, a Korean startup that focuses on fun and light quizzes, has gained heaps of traction and attention over the past several months. Web users in Southeast Asia are no exception. If youre on Facebook in the region, you may have noticed an influx of quizzes that determine who you are based on your Facebook profile. Which Game of Thrones character are you? Hey guys, look, Im Daenerys Targaryen!

With an affinity for celebs, and for themselves, young Indonesians now find each other hooked on Vonvon like an entire country of narcissists, run amok on social media.

One quiz in particular that determines which celebrity you look like has gone insanely viral among Indonesian users. All you need to do is include your picture, and Vonvon will do some sort of wizardry to pick a celebritys face that bears a resemblance to yours. Although the results may not be 100% accurate, Indonesians are habitually posting them on social media like theyve just discovered digital cigarettes.

There are many logical reasons as to why so many people in Jakarta fancy Vonvons quizzes. They are very fun, they are easy, and they speak to how you see yourself. TIME recently named Indonesia as the most narcissistic country, as a result. The often obnoxious (but sometimes guilty-pleasure quizzes) prove that Indonesians really do enjoy seeing themselves in the spotlight. In short, we love ourselves. There, I said it.

But Vonvons strategy through social media has also led to success in other Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and Vietnam. The app optimizes its content with each countrys trending topics -- or most-used words on Facebook -- so users can keep up with the trends through the app. Its pretty ingenious, actually.

That said, Vonvon was accused of selling our information on Facebook (including our IP addresses, friend lists, location, Facebook activities, photos, videos, and more) to commercial third parties. CEO Jonghwa Kim bucked the issue. The alleged breach of privacy could potentially mean handing over your personal info to people you dont really want to have it. But it really all depends: What type of person are you? It seems Indonesians arent the kind who care much for privacy.

Vonvon uses Facebook information to generate personalized results, and in some quizzes, the results involve your friends. For those who still dont get it, heres how to use Vonvon:

  1. Go to id.vonvon.me or en.vonvon.me, or you can visit its Facebook page
  2. Choose use the app
  3. Choose your exciting quiz
  4. Login into your Facebook account

Some quizzes will give you the option to upload a picture. You can also let the app just use your Facebook photo, which is easier. Vonvons quiz results are then posted to your Facebook page, and theyre good for getting a few laughs out of your friends late at night.
