Brilio.net/en - The Cold War may be over but its still too soon for many in Russia. The Russian brand of American franchise Papa Johns had a rather distasteful promotional code for a Hawaiian pizza deal. In order to win a pie, all sense of history had to be shoved aside as former Communist dictator Joseph Stalin was the password. Because nothing stirs an appetite for a greasy pizza as much a dictator who starved millions. During his 30 year reign, the totalitarian dictator was responsible for the death of 20 millions Russians alongside the 20 million troops and civilians who died during World War 2.

Journalist and Editor-in-Chief at the independent TV Rain Ilia Klishin wrote on his Facebook page: My grandfather Aleksey Somov was repressed with his only fault being an engineer and building an electric mill (which was ruled excessively bourgeois and demolished), so I send my best regards to these sick bastards.

Papa Johns is insisting that the code was related to World of Tanks, a video game that features Soviet-era armored vehicles used during his reign. While this may be well, it begs the questions why this promotional code wasnt used worldwide.

The Kentucky based company apologized on its Facebook page, stating: We always try to be apolitical. Better luck next time.
