Brilio.net/en - The lack of tourism development in North Bali is a sharp contrast to the bustling tourist trade of the southern part of the island, an element keenly felt by the people of the Buleleng region. But the provincial governments steps to bolster tourism further in the area still met with mixed reactions, particularly after they cleared several residential areas on the shores of Lake Tamblingan to expand into what it calls spiritual tourism.

For those coming and going through the Balinese provincial capital of Singaraja, Lake Tamblingan and Lake Buyan are simply referred to as the twin lakes. Ironically, these waterways are less popular than the Beratan Bedugul lake in Tabanan, which is located two kilometers away from the twin lakes.

The area passing through the main road between Singaraja or Goblek Village has many worthwhile places to stop by. Travelers passing through the highway around Wanagiri Village can stop by for a moment and enjoy the view of the two adjoining lakes.

Interestingly, this winding road is full of wild monkeys. But fortunately, they are tame and never disturb humans.

These monkeys are tame, even though the government does not provide them with food said Luh Murni, a vendor who sells to bananas to travelers wishing to feed the monkeys, Buleleng, Saturday (23/5).

Moreover, when we tried to give fruit or other foods to the monkeys, they would come in groups, form a line and wait for their turn. None of them scramble for the fruits, and they disperse when there are no more food to be given.

While the monkeys are wild, they initially differ from their counterparts in their lack of ferocity. When I went back to Palaki, my stuff was snatched by (the monkeys there) said Bambang, a traveler from Semarang. Perhaps the only downside to this place is its lack of proper management.

Later on Bambang changed his mind, though it didnt stop him from discovering the areas natural beauty. I thought these monkeys were fierce. But they could keep from seeing the the lake, and from there go to the Gitgit Waterfalls he added.
