Brilio.net/en - Green goes with everything, especially if its that natural shade of green. As the sustainability movement increases in momentum and interest around the globe, artists and designers are taking notice.
Susan McLeary is one such artist. She designs jewelry with an earthy twist. Using succulents straight from her family-owned greenhouse, the young talent creates intricate jungle details with the flowers. She infuses the plants onto necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. The planted creations will bloom for about 2-4 weeks before loosing their base, at which point the wearer is able to gently remove them from their base and pot them, making them a truly green accessory as the base can be worn on its own as well.

In the fashion world, the word sustainable fashion has been trending for some while. This includes small-scale improvements such as the rise in second hand stores and vintage boutiques and even biodegradable clothing that would decompose into the earth after one year of love. But the big brand names are still slow to adjust to the more green methods of producing clothing, namely in part due to the fast fashion that has become popular among consumers, especially Millennials. Fashion giants such as H&M and Forever21 are spearheading the market for cheap products that are constantly being renewed, causing consumers to be less concerned about sustainable methods of purchasing clothing but rather get stuck in the cycle of consuming cheap and low quality clothing.
