Amidst the excitement of the engagement issue, the family finally spoke up to clarify the news. Benny Simanjuntak, who is Ijonk's uncle, emphasized that the engagement rumor was not true and was just a misunderstanding.
While guesting on the Rumpi No Secret show on Tuesday (28/1), Benny firmly denied the news. He said that the video circulating was not the proposal moment, but an old incident that happened in November 2024.
"So this is what November is like," said Benny Simanjuntak.
According to him, the ring given by Ijonk to Ririn was just a birthday present. There was no proposal or engagement ceremony as many netizens suspected.
"Jonathan gave me a gift, right? Then it was videotaped, and finally the gossip came out, there was no engagement, I am 100% sure there was no engagement," explained Benny Simanjuntak.

According to him, giving each other gifts on birthdays is a common thing that many people do. Coincidentally, at that time his nephew gave him a ring.
In addition, Benny also ensured that until now there has been no serious discussion regarding the proposal. Although admitting that his nephew has a special relationship with Ririn, he said that the two are still just dating.
"If it's Ijonk's birthday, Ijonk gets it, if it's Ririn's birthday, Ririn gets it," said Benny.
