Brilio.net - South Jakarta Metro Police arrested former colossal drama actress , Sekar Arum Widara (41) on suspicion of distributing counterfeit money worth IDR 223 million in a shopping center in the Kemang, Mampang area.
"We arrested him on Wednesday (2/4) at around 21.00 WIB with Rp223.5 million in banknotes," said Head of Ranmor Satreskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan Iptu Teddy Rohendi to journalists in Jakarta, Sunday.
Teddy said the incident began when the perpetrator made a payment with counterfeit money at a mall supermarket and succeeded. Then, on the same day the suspect tried again to make a purchase transaction at the same supermarket, but at a different cashier.
"When making the payment, the cashier first checked the money using a UV money detector and found that the money was counterfeit and the transaction was cancelled," he said as quoted by Antaranews.
Then, the perpetrator tried to make another purchase at another store by giving counterfeit cash to the cashier. The cashier checked and found counterfeit money.
The security immediately arrested the perpetrator and it was known that the perpetrator had committed the act more than twice. "Then the mall security informed the reporter and was taken to the South Jakarta Metro Police," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was suspected of violating Article 26 paragraph 2 and 3 in conjunction with Article 36 paragraph 2 and 3 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 7 of 2011 concerning Currency and/or Article 244 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 245 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
