Brilio.net - Dewi Yull , a senior singer known for her steadfast attitude and meaningful life journey, is currently facing a serious health challenge. At the age of 64, she experienced blindness in her right eye due to retinal ablation triggered by a very high minus level.

This situation is certainly a big blow for her, especially since Dewi Yull has been known as a figure who remains active and productive in the entertainment world. Although she only relies on the sight of one eye, she still chooses to be grateful and live her life with the same spirit as before.

Dewi admitted that this experience was not easy. However, the woman born in 1961 showed extraordinary resilience in facing the limitations that are now part of her daily life.

Dewi Yull revealed that her sight was taken by God through her right eye. She tries to see this condition from the positive side by remaining grateful for the health of her other organs that are still functioning well.

"At my age, God took, took away one eye. My lungs are good, my heart is good, thank God, so just be grateful. No human is perfect, even robots are not perfect," said Dewi Yull as quoted by brilio.net from KapanLagi on Saturday (5/7).

The blindness she experienced was due to retinal ablation, where the retina of the right eye was detached due to minus reaching extreme numbers. Although it interferes with her daily activities, Dewi chooses not to let it limit her.

He stressed that he did not want to be bothered by these limitations. According to him, this condition is part of the aging process that must be accepted sincerely.

"It's very disturbing, but I don't want to be disturbed. Because this is a problem for every human being as they grow older, I'm almost 65, I'm already walking, so every human being is given shortcomings as they grow older," he explained.

Dewi Yull's life experience in facing limitations was not only felt by herself, but also shared in the context of her family. She instilled the value that everyone has weaknesses, including her own family members.

She recalls having to explain to her children that they are growing up in a supportive environment despite their disabilities. She said that glasses, hearing aids and visual aids are not barriers to feeling confident.

"Oh, since I was little, I've said that we are both disabled, we both have weaknesses. If we didn't wear glasses, we couldn't see, so Surya Sahetapy (deaf) and his late sister (Gizca) (deaf) had to use hearing aids. Since they were little, we both needed hearing aids," said Dewi.

Dewi's decision not to undergo Lasik surgery in the past was apparently not without reason. She wanted her children to see that their mother was still confident using visual aids, just like those who use hearing aids.

She said that the decision was a form of emotional support for her children. She wanted to set an example that accepting shortcomings is human and actually strengthens their relationship as a family.

"I have glasses, my child has a hearing aid. Now, the mother didn't want to undergo LASIK surgery so that my children would still have confidence and want to use hearing aids. We are the same, we are human beings, none of us are perfect," he said.

Dewi also shared how her children reacted when they found out she was blind on one side. She felt grateful because from the beginning she had instilled the values of happiness and enthusiasm for learning, so that her children did not feel overly sad.

He wants to show that being productive in old age is something to be proud of, not something to cry about. He also tries to spread this spirit to others to keep learning and sharing amidst limitations.

"No, because she was convinced that her mother was happy, her mother was happy that at her current age she was still productive, could still be useful. She could still share experiences, learn," said Dewi.

For him, learning is a process that will never be finished, even until the end of life. The goddess views herself and everyone as students in an ever-evolving life.

He emphasized that the spirit of learning and accepting shortcomings is something that must be maintained. The supportive response of his children has also become a source of strength for him.

"We are a society, including me, we are all lifelong students. We are learners, none of us feel like we are already smart, no, we have to keep learning. And my children are very supportive because their mother has to learn. I am happy," he concluded.
