Cinta Laura condemns nickel mining that is destroying the Raja Ampat environment.

Cinta Laura recently expressed her opinion on the nickel mining issue that is accused of destroying the natural beauty of Raja Ampat. In a 4-minute video, she expressed her anger at the alleged environmental destruction in the location known as "the last paradise on Earth."

"Sorry, guys. I'm so emotional. What is the value of one human life? One mine? One cruise ship? One strategic deal ?" said Cinta Laura.

Love also questioned whether these business people still remember the faces of the victims, who were forced to leave their homes because of the damage caused.

" Raja Ampat is one of the world's few remaining paradises, but today, mining companies are destroying forests, polluting water and destroying coral reefs for nickel for electric cars," he said.

"They say this is progress. But progress for whom? Just ask the mothers in Papua who have difficulty finding clean water for their children. Just ask the fishermen who return with empty nets," he stressed.

Love stressed that the real cost of these mines is not just the tons of metal extracted, but also the loss of the local people's way of life and culture.

"Why does this keep happening? There are many factors that cannot be explained in this one video, but one thing I want to discuss is moral disengagement . We justify the unjustifiable for the sake of national development. Just a small island? There are still others," he said.

"From there, greed grew slowly, wrapped in the jargon of patriotism. What started as a small compromise on ethics, gradually became commonplace, until finally the entire ecosystem and culture were sacrificed without shame," he explained.

Cinta Laura also said that this was not only a failure of policy, but also a failure of conscience. She highlighted the health impacts of the communities affected by mining activities.

"When the next generation asks us, why is life getting harder? What will you answer?" he said.

He reminded that Raja Ampat is not just an island, but a warning. "If we keep quiet, what else will they seize? We still have a choice. Speak up now or explain someday?"

Meanwhile, the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has revoked four mining business permits (IUP) in the Raja Ampat region after considering input from the community and findings of environmental violations. The four companies whose mining permits were revoked are PT Anugerah Surya Pratama, PT Nurham, PT Mulia Raymond Perkasa, and PT Kawei Sejahtera Mining. Another company, PT GAG Nikel, was not included in the revocation because it has a work contract status.

"We met with the local government to listen to the aspirations of the community. They asked that the four IUPs included in the geopark area be considered," said ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
