The mother of famous Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is currently in the spotlight after making a controversial decision to sell her daughter's luxury home. Many fans disagree and accuse her of using Hsu's photos to gain public attention.

According to a report from VN Express released on Thursday (3/7/2025), Hsu's mother, Huang Chunmei, is trying to sell the mansion. This action is believed to be related to the unpaid mortgage issue, which puts the house at risk of being repossessed by the bank.

With a property value of NT$460 million (around Rp257 billion), and a monthly mortgage payment of more than NT$1 million (around Rp559 million), finding a buyer in today's sluggish real estate market is no easy feat.

Furthermore, Huang stated in a statement that he had been 'dreaming of his daughter,' sparking speculation that this was a way to divert media attention from the financial problems his family was facing.

Meanwhile, Hsu's sister, Dee Hsu, and Hsu's husband, DJ Koo, were recently spotted in South Korea, raising suspicions that they were taking care of inheritance procedures for the late Barbie Hsu.

Huang also tried to get support from those around him, including Hsu's ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei. However, it is reported that Wang preferred to leave the inheritance issue to his lawyer and avoid further interaction with Hsu's family.

In March 2025, a Taiwanese court ruled that Hsus estate would be divided equally between DJ Koo and her two children with Wang. As legal guardian, Wang would oversee their inheritance until they come of age, The Standard reported.

Taiwanese media, including the China Times , reported that the late Meteor Garden star's total assets were estimated at 600 million yuan or around Rp. 1.4 trillion.

Separate sources said Wang has no plans to move his children from Taiwan to Beijing and will prioritize their well-being in any decision. Huang, on the other hand, has expressed dissatisfaction with his former son-in-law on social media, calling him a liar.

In one post, he wrote, ' He is a liar, and I am a fool ,' clearly directed at Wang.

Huang also gave an exclusive interview where she stated, 'As long as the children are fine, that's all that matters. I'm old and have no more strength. I'm heartbroken that my filial daughter has passed away. Please don't ask baseless questions or add to my sorrow.'

She also answered questions about the child custody dispute and property division, saying, 'Whatever he (Wang) wants, it's up to him to take. I just want my daughter. Please don't let me wake up crying every day.'

Koo also stated on social media that he plans to transfer his share of the inheritance to Hsu's mother, saying, 'All of Hsu's hard-earned assets are intended to protect her beloved family, so I intend to give my share to my mother-in-law.'

However, legal experts in Taiwan explained that inheritance rights are personal and cannot be transferred to others. If Koo officially renounces his inheritance rights, then all of Hsu's wealth will go to his children.

On the other hand, Hsu's ex-husband recently married a woman 18 years his junior, Mandy Ma, on May 17, 2025, at the historic Prince Jun's Mansion Hotel in Beijing, China. The event was an intimate affair, attended only by family members and close friends.

However, according to a report from VN Express on May 21, 2025, Hsu's two children did not attend their father's wedding. Taiwanese media, Znews , reported that Wang Hsi Yueh (11) and Wang Hsi Lin (9) went to Taipei with their nanny ahead of the wedding ceremony to avoid public attention.
