On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the South Jakarta Religious Court officially decided on the divorce between Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven . This decision marks the end of a relationship that has been going on since 2018, after Baim filed for divorce on October 7, 2024.

After her marriage ended, Paula appeared on Denny Sumargo's podcast to explain her situation to the public. She wanted to emphasize that there was no infidelity in her marriage.

"I stand by my children that this was not an affair," Paula said on the podcast, adding, "I can testify and I can be held accountable for this in the afterlife, what I said and did."

Denny, who was the host, asked various questions, including about Paula's happiness in her marriage. "Happiness is relative. There must be happiness. If not, it would be impossible to have two children," answered Paula.

However, Denny responded, "There are some who are not happy but still have children," which made Paula chuckle.

Denny continued by asking whether Paula's happiness level reached 50 percent. "Well that's... confusing," Paula replied.

"Because when I feel I'm not happy with my life - there are definitely ups and downs - that's when I (feel) I should be grateful. Not everyone has a perfect life," he explained.

Instead of getting caught up in household problems, Paula chose to get closer to God. "How do I deal with all of that? By getting closer to religious studies, so that my focus is not (on) what I don't have," she said.

Complaint to the Supreme Court Supervisory Body

On the other hand, Paula through her attorney reported the alleged violation of the judge's code of ethics for her divorce decision to the Supreme Court Supervisory Body (Bawas MA). This was done to follow up on the results of the investigation into alleged administrative violations in their divorce trial at the South Jakarta Religious Court. There were three points of alleged administrative violations submitted by Paula.

"First, at the verdict reading hearing, we, Paula's attorney and Baim's attorney, and the Panel of Judges agreed that the verdict reading hearing would be conducted via e-court, through a closed system," explained Siti Aminah Tardi, Paula's attorney.

The second point relates to decisions that are still in the minutes stage, and finally, there are matters related to personal data in the decision that cannot be published.
