Brilio.net/en - The trend of wearing hijab has developed into many creative ideas in Indonesia. Many styles and tutorials are uploaded and shared on social media, and one of the proud hijab wearer is Indonesian singer Melly Goeslaw. On her Instagram post in 2015, Wed (13/5) she showed off her newest headdress that is tall and fully decorated. In the caption she wrote HEADDRESS and accessories are mine.

Her followers reactions varied. An account of @achmadsafarie praised her creation as Incredible!!!! So inspirational! *take note for next years concert wardrobe inspiration @lovelilolo @nissaharmony.
But quite a few have also mocked her. Some of the mocking comments are from the neighbour country Malaysia. An account named @razif_abdul wrote a cynical comment in Malay language: Hahahaha what is this? Its like an alien head I see

Another comment came from account @thewhodude, also in Malay: The height can have clothes hung there ahahahahah @melly_goeslaw what is she doing, no need to be a trend setter. While the account @syfnaz wrote, Oh Goddddd @_amrahalim check this out hahahahahaha. Judging by their use of Malay, it is safe to assume they are Malaysian or live in Malaysia.

There are also Indonesian people who mocked Melly Goeslaw, one of which is from account @adniluam who wrote in Indonesian slang: No waaay, I would get people nosy if I wear something like this. Another account wrote something like: Hahahahaha...the decoration is so funny...and shes wearing it with confidence hehehe...its okay maybe? shes an artist...but guaranteed a civilian wouldnt want to wear it.

The next day, Thu (14/5), Melly Goeslaw posted the counter-attack caption on her Instagram account. In general she explained how she still has to learn much, to understand, to continue working on herself in many ways. She also commented on her mockers in wearing hijab. This is what she wrote in Indonesian:

Melly Goeslaw 2016 brilio.net

I am not a woman who wears hijab
I am just a woman happy to cover the parts of my body that are better to be covered, and have not met the requirement to be a woman with hijab
I love covering my hair and neck with cloth, or with other materials that are common or uncommon to be worn on hair
If a woman with hijab is a woman who is considered to be right in many things, it is still faaar from me
I am only a human that still needs to learn, still needs to understand, still needs to fix one self from many things
But I am happy with the condition where I still feel lack of knowledge than the others
So the hope is still there
A hope where someday I can be a religious woman who can wear hijab, jilbab, not singing, not acting for sinetron (Indonesian drama series, red.), not being a judge, not running for any competition, not letting her self seen by other in the TV or other media that could invite a slander and immoral, not being in films, not on social media, only doing things like what the wives of the Prophet would do. Until I finally understand that a muslim woman is not stopping in the understanding that hijab cannot be taller than the camels hump, but there are still maaany more rules cannot be broken, and I am not able to be that. I am only a woman, a wife, a mother and a friend who is still not worth to be said a woman with hijab.
So dont waste your time judging me, better to change your profile pic with a more appropriate photo for a blasphemer, because it is funny that a hijab wearing person would use such rude language.
And for the neighbour country, dont you have your own celebrities that you have to comment on another countrys celebrity?
If you dont like, dont follow. If you dont like dont take a peek #mellygoeslaw #menantimagrib
