Brilio.net - Smile lines are indeed a challenge when applying makeup, especially if the lines are quite deep. This area is often a vulnerable point for makeup to clump or crack, and often makes the appearance of makeup look older than its actual age. In fact, smile lines are a natural part of facial expressions that are almost impossible to avoid.
Problems arise when foundation or concealer accumulates in these creases, then begins to crack as the face moves. For some people, especially those with dry skin or uneven facial textures, smile lines can be the "main enemy" that makes the makeup results far from expectations. No matter how expensive the products used, if you don't know how to get around them, these lines can ruin the whole look.
Thats why many professional makeup artists pay extra attention to this areafrom choosing the right primer, careful blending techniques, to using just enough setting powder. However, there is a simpler trick to overcome this problem. This simple trick was explained further by makeup artist, Galih Pamungkas.

As reported by briliobeauty.net from Instagram @galih_makeupartist on Friday (9/5), she admitted that she only relies on one simple tool, namely a cotton bud. Well, this cotton bud will later be used to remove foundation on the smile line. The goal is so that there is no buildup of products that then make the makeup crack.

The method is also very simple. First, prepare a clean cotton bud and stick it directly to the smile line. Once done, pull the cotton bud from the bottom of the nostrils towards the chin (forming the original smile line).

Once the foundation has been removed, then tap the area with a sponge (without adding any more foundation). This aims to cover the line with a thin foundation from around the smile line. That way, the complexion color will also be more even and there will be no "holes".
But in addition to the smile line, Galih also emphasized that this technique can be applied to the corners or nostrils. Not without reason, these parts also often experience cracks due to product buildup.

After the foundation is applied, set the smile line and the nostril area with loose powder. For maximum results, apply the powder with a brush. This will make the foundation set without cracking or even making holes.
