Brilio.net - Being a makeup artist is not only about creativity, but also how to face various technical challenges when applying makeup. One of the problems that MUAs often experience is a complexion that suddenly "collapses" before the makeup is completely finished. In fact, complexion is the main foundation of makeup. If it does not stick perfectly, the entire final result of the makeup can look less than optimal.

This kind of experience is often experienced by a MUA, one of whom is named Anggi. Through the Instagram account @anggimakeup_artist, she had uploaded a video of a client's face being made up. In the upload, the complexion on the client's face looked damaged and faded even though the makeup was not completely finished. Even though she had used high-quality makeup products.

After further investigation, one of the main causes is not the makeup itself, but rather the client's skin condition which has been affected by the use of concoction skincare. This type of skincare often contains active ingredients that can make the skin layer more slippery, difficult to apply products, or interfere with the adhesion of the foundation. This is what often makes the complexion look broken, shifted, or difficult to blend properly.

"Make up is smudging and doesn't stick"
"This is because of the skincare concoction," wrote Anggi, quoted by briliobeauty.net from Instagram @anggimakeup_artist on Wednesday (4/6).

To overcome this problem, Anggi as a MUA usually has a fairly effective strategy, namely by advising the bride-to-be to stop using concocted skincare at least one month before the big day. The goal is for the skin condition to return to neutral and not too slippery or sensitive due to the active ingredients of the skincare. That way, the makeup will be much easier to stick and last longer.

How to deal with foundation that has already faded.

If it's too late, there are options that can be done to overcome it. The method is, the foundation that has been partially applied will be cleaned first, then the face is washed again using a bar of soap that is more abrasive. Skin prep in the form of cream is skipped, and only setting spray is used as a base.

The foundation used is a mixture of solid and liquid textured products with a ratio of 3:2. This mixture is then burned briefly (to melt and unite the texture), then immediately dipped in cold water. The application begins with the fingers to make it stick better, then smoothed again with a beauty blender for smooth results.

Another option is a lighter application technique without much layering. If the complexion looks untidy, it's best not to add more products (overlay them in layers). It's better to remove them completely and recreate them with a more minimalist technique. Skin prep is only done in two stages, namely hydration with toner, setting spray, or light serum, then locked with a primer or serum. This technique keeps the skin from feeling too heavy before the foundation is applied, so the makeup can last more stably.
