The officials wives accompany their husbands to various events. They also are always there to entertain and support their husbands in times of trouble. Incredibly romantic! Who are they?
1. Habibie and Ainun
Who doesnt know this couple? Their incredibly romantic story was even made into a movie and watched by millions. Habibie married Ainun on May 12th, 1962. Their story was really touching, starting from difficult times in Germany to his success in becoming the President of Indonesia.
One thing that can be emulated from this couple is their deep loyalty. Even though Ainun passed away, Habibie visits her grave every week to send prayers and leave flowers.
2. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Ani Yudhoyono
The love story between Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Ani deserves to be known for its timeless romance. They met when Ani accompanied her father to an event at AKABRI Campus in Magelang. During that event, Ani was enchanted by SBY who was strapping, tall, and handsome. Fortunately, SBY also had feelings for her. Finally, they married on July 30th, 1976. Almost 40 years later, they remain romantic, even in public. Ani also often documents their relationship in her Instagram account.
3. Jusuf Kalla and Mufidah
Anywhere Jusuf Kalla (JK) goes, you will always find the same woman at his side. She is Mufidah, his wife. Their love began to bloom when they were still studying in school. As teenagers do, JK fell in love at first sight with Mufidah.
Unfortunately, their love faced many obstacles because Mufidah was already engaged to another man. Nevertheless, JK never gave up. He kept fighting for her love and succeeded in marrying her. They are blessed with five children.
4. Soeharto and Ibu Tien
Unlike the previous stories of love at first sight, this couple had an arranged marriage. At that time, Soeharto was in the middle of a war against the Netherlands after the declaration of independence. Suddenly, he was approached by Prawirowiharjo who is his uncle and adoptive parent.
Mrs. Prawirowiharjo arranged for Soeharto to marry Siti Hartinah, known as Tien. Initially, Soeharto was not sure that Tien was willing to be his wife. Tien came from a noble family while he was just a farmers son. However, he was wrong and Tien was willing to marry him. They were married in Solo, on December 26th, 1947.
5. Ridwan Kamil and Atalia Praratya
Ridwan Kamil and his wife became a hot topic of discussion because of their romance. They are always together and they always support each other.
Ridwan Kamil, known as Kang Emil, first met Atalia at an exhibition and fell in love at first sight. They were married on December 7th, 1996. However, their life did not run smoothly at first. They had to overcome many obstacles, starting from being unemployed in the US to giving birth to their first child in a special hospital for the poor. Yet, they never gave up. Now, Kang Emil is the mayor of Bandung.
