Had a blast at your New Year celebrations? While everywhere around the world ending of a year is celebrated with fireworks and plenty of fanfare, the same festivities are banned in these four countries.

1.Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabia Commission on Crime Prevention and Policy officially banned people from putting onNew Year celebrations after being advised by local religious leaders.The prohibition includes the banning ofshops from selling New-Year-themed accessories, flowers, and dolls. The country is also not too friendly withValentines day.

2. Brunei.

Brunei is one of countries in the world that imposes the Islamic Law, and therefore SultanHassanal Bolkiah has decided toban both Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Non-Muslims are still allowed to observe their year-end rituals, although public festivities are punishable by law.

3. Tajikistan.

The country which is one of post-Soviet states bans the celebration of Christmas and New Year including Christmas tree in public places such as schools and campuses.

The government also bans the people from using fireworks, crackers, and giving gifts for New Year.

4. Somalia.

Somalia bans Christmas and New Year as it is against their culture and they also worry that it might provoke the right wing radical movement Al-Shahaab to perform terrorism.

The government send police and intelligence to prevent any Christmas and New Year celebration.
